Happy Midsummer everyone!
At the moment I have too much to do to read anything more than a few blog posts. I hope we’ll get everything sorted out soon because I really miss reading. It would also be great if I could find my French dictionary because I have two French historic mysteries that I haven’t been able to read for ages.
We finally moved up to our cabin in the woods! It’s a lot more primitive than I remembered it and it definitely needs fixing up but there’s such peace.
If you’d like to see a photo from out there you’re welcome to visit my photo blog.
Shocking as it may seem to most people, I haven't read more than the first book in the series, but I thought this Harry Potter-rellated themed meme was good and I thought I'd do it. If I've made any mistakes, since I don't know the fandom too well, I hope you'll let me know so I can correct them.
Harry Potter: Tell us about a scar on your body.
I have lots of scars, mainly from beloved cats, but I also have a scar from a vaccination that didn't go quite as it should have. The spot where they injected me, swelled up, or rather my whole back, and I can still remember how much it hurt and how much I cried and how as I grew it moved across my body. I also have a barely visible scar from the C-section.
Hermione Granger: What is your favorite book, how many times have you read it, and why do you love it?
Please, Hermione, you of all people should know that it's impossible to pick just one book. But I do have several that I have read and re-read over the years, among them LOTR.
Ron Weasley: Something you’re afraid of?
Many things, but mostly the situation in the world today.
Luna Lovegood: One thing that makes you different from everyone else.
If I knew that maybe more people would like me.
Fred Weasley: Can you do any magic tricks? What is the best one you can do? If you can’t do any, what’s the best one you’ve seen?
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any good magic tricks that I can remember.
George Weasley: What is the best prank you’ve ever played on someone?
I once tricked a not very nice temp that I disliked into letting me go get Camilla's (my name) French books in her locker. He said I could go but when I returned a friend of mine had told him what I'd really told him. It was really my sister's books I was going to get.
Neville Longbottom: Tell us an embarrassing story.
I'm not sure I want to do that. Embarrassing is embarrassing and it's not something I'd like to share with anyone. I just want to forget.
Narcissa Malfoy: Do you have a good relationship with your family? Who are you closest to?
Yes. I'm closest to my sister and my daughter.
Voldemort: If you were to create a Horcrux(s), what would it be and why?
I don't even know what that is, but I know I should.
Bellatrix Lestrange: Have you ever loved someone who could never love you back?
Yes, all the time.
Ginny Weasley: Have you ever been in love with an unexpected person?
Hedwig: If you went to Hogwarts, what kind of pet would you bring? (ex: cat, owl, rat, frog)
What? I can take only one? Cats and dogs would be my answer, and if I could maybe some rabbits, guinea pigs, cockatiels and maybe bantams as well.
Draco Malfoy: Is it better to be feared or to be loved?
To be loved.
Rubeus Hagrid: What is your favorite mystical creature?
Unicorn, I think.
Dolores Umbridge: Make a list of rules that your family (or whoever you choose) would have to follow if you made the rules.
If I could make rules for the rest of the world, I'd make sure we were all safe.
Lucius Malfoy: What is your most prized possession?
It's hard to pick just one, but I do love my boots a lot. Yes, boots, but I do love my books as well and my old toys.
Molly Weasley: What is the proudest moment of your life?
When I had my children.
Dobby: Who are you most loyal to?
Sirius Black: Have you ever been accused of doing something you didn’t do?
Argus Filch: What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
In the kitchen of a mental hospital.
Dudley Dursley: How many presents do you usually receive on your birthday?
Five - ten books.
Peter Pettigrew: Are you a leader or a follower?
Neither. I walk by myself. LOL.
Cedric Diggory: Have you ever had a near death experience?
Albus Dumbledore: What is the greatest obstacle you have ever overcome in your life?
Being able to have children despite many difficulties and setbacks.
Minerva McGonagall: What is your favorite spell?
A protective spell (if I had one).
Severus Snape: Are you a trustworthy person?
Remus Lupin: If you transform into any one animal or creature, which one would it be?
A dragon, maybe.
Uncle Vernon: What is your favorite day of the week?
Mad Eye Moody: Who is the bravest person you know?
I'm not sure I know any really brave people.
Arthur Weasley: What do you think is the best “muggle” invention?
Self-driving cars, maybe. 3D printers are pretty cool too and so are androids and robots.
Professor Sprout: What is your favourite class that is offered at Hogwarts?
Something to do with history.
Nymphadora Tonks: If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?
I'd be a lot thinner.
Moaning Myrtle: What is something that always makes you cry?
Lots of things make me cry.
James Potter: Would you risk your life to save someone you truly love?
Lily Potter: What color eyes do you have?
Professor Trelawney: Have you ever dreamt something was going to happen and then it happened?
Yes, weirdly enough.
Mr. Ollivander: What would your wand look like?
I'm not sure. Not brown anyway.
Lavender Brown: Who is the last person who texted and have you ever had a crush on them?
No. I only text my family as a rule, but I have texted a few guys. Not really ones I've had a crush on, sadly enough.
Cho Chang: If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play?
I hate sports.
Aunt Petunia: What is your favorite flower?
Either forgetmenots, geraniums or apple blossoms (if those count).
1. Favorite book-to-screen adaptation?
The Circle by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergmark Elfgren. I think the movie was actually better than the book, which wasn't bad either.
2. Movie tie-in covers yay or nay?
3. Book you most want to see adapted to screen?
Almost anything by Diana Wynne Jones and the other books in the Circle series.
1. Where are you from?
2. Favorite book?
I couldn't possibly choose just one, but I'll mention one at random anyway: The Red Apples by Iris Qvanskog. It's a supernatural story about a girl, a missing boy, a witch and some extremely red apples.
3. Favorite series?
Shadowbridge and Lord Tophet by Gregory Frost,The Raven Cycle by Anthea Sharp, The Feyland and Feyguard series by Anthea Sharp. I'm also really enjoying the Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman. And many more. How could anyone choose just one?
4. Your favorite movie?
There's no way I could choose only one. I'm looking forward to seeing A Wrinkle in Time, Mary and the Witch's Flower and a Swedish movie based on a Swedish book called room 213. It's the first in a series of spooky children's books.
5. Favorite tv series?
See above. Although, at the moment, I love the following series that have been aired recently or are still on right now in Sweden): Endevour. Death in Paradise. And Victor and Josefine.
6. Your favorite singer?
Darin Zanyar is really hot (but I wish he'd get rid of that beard). I also like Universal Poplabs, Nilla Nielsen and Sara Varga and several others - oldies from the eighties mostly.
7. Favorite color/s?
Blue and green (in various shades) closely followed by dark red and lemon.
8. Favorite genre?
Fantasy, science fiction and historic fiction. Again, I couldn't choose just one...
9. Where do you work/study?
At home, on the computer.
10. Do you have children? If not, do you want to have any?
Today we went on the outing we had planned for yesterday. We found a pretty good playground. There were swings, slides, a ship, a "jeep" and more. My daughter sat on a swing (and my son tried it for a while too) and my son went on a slide for the first time in his life. He didn't like it. However, it was a bit difficult for us lazy grownups to walk in the sand that covered the ground. Also, there was a woman with three boys and a pug. She let her pug do his business in the sand on the edge of the playground. That's not ok.
1. How is your weather?
Spring has finally come and all the snow has been gone for a while now!
2. What's your favorite springtime dish?
A salad with lots of vegetables.
3. Current favorite ice cream/chocolate/dessert?
Either Oatly's strawberry ice cream or Choice (formerly Tofuline) cones. Or the traditional Swedish chocolate ball.
4. Most anticipated TBR?
The next book in the Invisible Library series.
1. Describe your current read in 4 words.
Interesting. Fascinating. Cosy. Well-written. (Actually, I'm not reading anything right now, but I was describing the last book I read, Bury your dead by Louise Penny, in Swedish translation).
2. How old were you when you had your wisdom teeth removed (if at all)?
I've never had to have a wisdom tooth removed.
3. Favorite cartoon show/character?
Either Maya the Bee or a French one called (in Swedish) Victor and Josefine (but it's really called Ernest et Celestine).
4. What is your astrological sign?
Idag, 29 april, firas svenska fantastikdagen.
1. How often do you visit your local library?
Once in a while. But less now than earlier, since my sister didn't get a job there. ;) Also, they have doors that open automatically and my two-year-old daughter almost ran out into traffic before my sister could catch her (I was elsewhere with my son).
2. If you could visit any library in the world, which would it be?
Strangely enough I think I'd pick the one in the town next to here. It's very nice, but so are most libraries, even the tiny one in a village close to here, where most of the local residents are awful, but the librarians are great.
3. What books do you have on hold at the library, if any?
I don't usually borrow printed books anymore, just e-books. The only thing I have to wait for is for the week to pass. We only get to borrow two books a week, but since I have children, I'm usually busy, so I don't have that many nights when I'm alert enough to read but don't get to borrow one.
4. At what age did you get your first library card?
I was four or five, but then we moved to a town with a bigger library, and they said children had to use their parents' library cards.
On Tuesday, my sister gave birth to two adorable little girls. So now I'm an aunt as well as a mom. Throughout the pregnancy they've been nicknamed Sunflower and Sesamy and I guess we'll still call them that from time to time. :)
1. What's your birth order?
First born, first girl.
2. Did you ever want more/fewer siblings?
Yes, I would have loved to have at least two more.
3. How many siblings do you have?
Two. A younger sister and a younger brother.
4. Favorite fictional siblings?
Maybe the two siblings in A wrinkle in time? But I also like the four in the Narnia books. Actually, I'm sure I have other favorites, but I can't think of any others right now.
